This Just In: An Article on Perimenopause and Menopause Symptoms

“Many women don’t know what to expect during perimenopause…,” writes Dani Blum in the opening sentence of this article.  By the end of the first section on hot flashes, I knew this article was not going to be terrifically helpful for those women wondering about perimenopause.  There are A LOT more treatment options for hot flashes than hormone therapy, birth control pills, and antidepressants.  This article is an example of the misinformation and/or lack of information regarding how to navigate the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.

I considered revising the article and sending it to the Times. Maybe I’ll just post my revision here in the future.

Mostly, I hope women PRESS ON beyond the information this article offers as they look for strategies and solutions to support themselves through what can be a tumultuous and exhilarating transition.
