Contemplating the “Process of Unfolding” as Spring Arrives

It’s March. It’s mud season in Maine and it is MESSY! Floors, cars, trails . . . the mess is everywhere. There is also beauty to behold amidst the messiness: longer days, songbirds, tiny leaf buds on the trees. The earth is waking up.

It’s been a little messy around here as I work through the launch of Beautiful Messy Wholeness. There are lots of details to be addressed, new systems to learn, and content to create. Watch the short video below of me explaining the intentions of Whole Woman Health and Beautiful Messy Wholeness. Thanks for all the constructive feedback letting me know where the holes in my delivery are and bearing with me.

WHAT SPRING BRINGS

I'm taken aback a bit by the fear I feel as spring approaches. It’s not the first time I’ve felt this fear, and I recognize I feel it in the fall, as well. I feel fearful about having enough time and energy to fold outside chores and the care of a wooden sailboat into what already feels like a full life.

  • Did I rest enough in the dark of winter?

  • Do I have the energy to be expansive (expansiveness looms particularly large this spring as we emerge from the pandemic)?

  • Am I full up?

  • Do I have what it takes?

The process of unfolding is something I’m thinking about a lot these days: the unfolding of Beautiful Messy Wholeness, the unfolding of the leaves and flowers, the unfolding that is the creative process. I am learning that when I press and push through things—whether it be a yoga practice or writing a blog—the outcomes are less-than-optimal.

I am learning this while I paint our front hall and work on an upcoming webinar, “Foundations of Wholeness” (more on this below). As cliché as it sounds, I am learning, or perhaps re-learning, the importance and value of staying present with the process. The outcomes are more embodied, more authentic, and hopefully more beautiful.

Below, I have provided the links to a multiple week series of blogs on inflammation and immunity. It is pertinent to the time and the hub of functional medicine. I am also sending along some tidbits on what I'm reading, cooking, and listening to at this moment in hopes that you find value from these resources as well.

"Foundations of Wholeness" with Carrie Levine, CNM
Tuesday, March 30, 2021
Noon to 1:00 pm ET
(part of the Coastal Pharmacy & Wellness webinar series)

I take a deep dive into the "Foundations of Wholeness" as outlined in my mini-guide, available at the Beautiful Messy Wholeness website. I hope you join us for this FREE online event!

ABOUT THE WEBINAR
Wholeness resides in imperfection. Although you may currently feel like a mess, your health can be restored. Nutritious food, a healthy lifestyle, and balanced physiology all contribute to your energy, serenity, and sanity. But knowing it and doing it, are two different things. Your inner knowing and lived experience are valuable sources of information when making decisions. Sometimes they’re not enough to resolve a health issue. That’s when science and support are essential. This webinar will help turn you towards the right path.

Attendance is Free, but you must pre-register for participation details.
